Practice Swim |
There will not be an official practice swim held in 2008. If you are swimming in Duxbury Bay, please swim along the shoreline on the beach side of the bay, preferably North of the bridge. Registration/Check-In Details
| Registration |
- Online: Register online for the 2008 Duxbury Beach Triathlon. Please note that the race is expected to fill quickly and is limited to 650 individuals (50 reserved for Special Olympics chairty entries) and 50 teams. All participants who register online will be eligible to win a special trip for two to Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Connecticut which includes an overnight stay, $100 towards dinner and a show in the exclusive Cabaret Theatre.
- Via mail: You may also register by downloading an application from our website and mailing it in. Confirmation of entry may take 5-7 days after application is received in the mail. You will not be eligible for the Mohegan Sun raffle prize.
- Please include an email address when registering. Please print clearly if registering by snail-mail. Important updates are sent out via email as the triathlon approaches. The team member who registers is asked to forward those emails to other team members.
|
| Bike Racking |
- There will NOT be overnight bike racking on Friday, September 26. Bike racking will take place when T1 opens at 8am on Saturday, September 27. All athletes must rack their bikes at T1 by 10am on Saturday.
|
| Check-In |
- We strongly recommend that you take advantage of the pre-race day check-in and packet pick-up on Friday, September 26, 3-7pm at the check-in headquarters, the Kingsbury Club in Kingston.
- Athletes may not pick up another participant's race packet or rack another athlete's bike. This is a USA Triathlon rule (this does not apply to members of the same team).
- Athletes will need a photo I.D. and current USAT membership card. All athletes who are not annual members of USAT will be required to fill out and sign a 1-day license and pay the one-time fee of $10 (If you plan to race more than 3 times this season, you may want to join USAT. Go to their website to register or for more information). If you register online, you will be required to pay the 1-day license fee at that time. We require those who mail in their applications to also include this fee in their check total. You may encounter a delay in the pre-race check-in process if you have to pay this fee when picking up your race packet. Only checks and cash will be accepted for this fee at check-in time. Credit cards are not permitted.
- USAT also requires that all team members individually pay the 1-day license fee. Thus, each team member is required to pay $10. One team member may register for the other members on Friday but all team members must fill out the license form on Saturday if picking up their race packet on race day.
- ANYONE competing who does not hold a current annual USAT membership will have to fill out the 1-day license form before checking in. You can’t check in (pick up packet) without doing so.
